Which do i consider is more important for purchasing a laptop under $450.00: System RAM or Hard Drive Size?
I am curious of which is best for a laptop that i can own to have a couple programs/games downloaded and plenty of music as well. My only resource to lo look at are in Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy and Office Depot here in the Georgia area. Please if you would, please share your knowledge of what I should do in looking for a good reliable laptop for gaming, music, and school/work. Thank you.

Depends on what kind of size difference we’re talking about here.
3 GB of RAM is plenty for a 32-bit system if you’re gaming.
Hard Drive space is as much as you want, it just means you won’t be able to hold as much stuff at any given time if you get a smaller one

Well if you want to game I would make sure you have at least 2GB of RAM, more won’t hurt. As for hard drive space, i would look at around 160-250GB if you’re as heavy in gaming and music as I am. I have about 80GB of games installed and around 65GB of music/video.

I always go for ram, hard drives are cheap and you can always get flash drives as well. I like to play the occasional game and since most laptops come with windows 7 that means its going to be a 64bit based operating system which means you can easly use up to 4 gigs of ram that is if your laptop mobo supports it. Since flashdrives are becoming cheaper and cheaper by the day and the space continues to increase, go for the ram since you wont have to deal with upgrading it and like i said you can always buy external hard disks for extra space.

If you are getting a new computer get it with as much ram as you can afford.

You can add an external USB hard drive later if you need more memory.

If you go to add more memory later most laptops will have both ram slots filled with ram so you will have to remove it and buy new ram with larger capacity.

You must give more importance to RAM cuz recently many efficient games and softwares require higher RAM size, and bigger RAM size increases the processing speed of your system and it doesn’t stuck while doing a heavy work on it. Even you have 250 GB hard drive for your songs library or movies it is always on the risk of being crashed some day so backup is always important, if your hard drive can’t store much data you want , purchase CD or DVD, write down your data on it and access it whenever you want , safety and flexibility………………
